Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump took the unusual step of releasing his short list of Supreme Court nominees Wednesday. Here’s a look at his picks and who appointed them to their current position. Five serve on state supreme courts, with the remaining six serving on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Steven Colloton of Iowa

Federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

Nominated by Republican President George W. Bush in 2003, took the bench in 2003

Allison Eid of Colorado

Colorado Supreme Court

Appointed in 2006 by Colorado Republican Gov. Bill Owens, took the bench in 2006

Raymond Gruender of Missouri

Federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

Nominated by Republican President George W. Bush in 2003, took the bench in 2004

Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania
