Did FBI delay of DNA test prolong Florida rape spree?

A Florida crime spree that included several rapes may have continued for months because the FBI failed to process a DNA sample from the former federal prison inmate now suspected in the crimes. DNA evidence linking the crimes to the suspect was available in February, but FBI DNA records turned up no matches because the suspect's DNA sample, given in March 2008, wasn't tested until last month -- after the suspect had been identified from other evidence.
