The Obamas are headed to Europe this summer -- but without the president.
First Lady Michelle Obama, her mother, Marian Robinson, and her daughters, Malia, 16, and Sasha, 13, will travel to London, Milan and Vicenza beginning June 15, her office announced Thursday.
As part of the Let Girls Learn initiative, Obama will meet with students in London and discuss how the United Kingdom and United States are working together to expand access to girls education around the world.
As part of the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative, Obama will lead a presidential delegation to the Milan Expo 2015 and tour the USA Pavilion, “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet.”
And as part of the Joining Forces initiative, Obama will visit members of the military and their families stationed in Vicenza, Italy. The family will also visit cultural sites in Venice.
