5 p.m.: Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, convention chairman, calls convention to order.

9:20 p.m.: Austin Ligon , co-founder and retired CEO of CarMax Inc.

9:50 p.m.: Costco CEO Jim Sinegal.

10 p.m.: Elizabeth Warren, consumer watchdog and U.S. Senate candidate in Massachusetts.

10:30 p.m.: Former President Bill Clinton gives official nominating speech.

A complete speakers’ schedule was not released by the Democratic National Convention Committee before 11:45 p.m. Tuesday

The three major networks, ABC, CBS and NBC, cover the convention live from 10 to 11 p.m.

Caucuses and council meetings

DNC caucus and council meetings will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center. Meetings are open to the public, but advance registration was required. That process is now closed.

10 a.m.-noon: Black Caucus (Ballroom CD), Hispanic Caucus (Ballroom A), Ethnic Council (Room 218B/219B), AAPI Caucus (Room 203AB), Native American Council (Room 218A/219A).

Noon-2 p.m.: Faith Council (Room 203AB), Youth Council (Ballroom B), Disability Caucus (Room 211AB/212AB).

2 p.m.-4 p.m.: Veterans and Military Families Council (Room 203AB).

9 a.m.-11 a.m.: “Celebrating our Progress: Perspectives on Immigration and Bthe U.S.-Mexico Border.” With Mexican ambassador to the United States Arturo Sarukhan; former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; Rep. Charlie Gonzalez, chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus; Mayor Arturo Garino of Nogales, Ariz.; CNN commentator Maria Cardona; Pulitizer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas; United We Dream leader Gabby Pacheco.

9:30 a.m.: Families USA and Service Employees International Union hold a forum on the health care law. Confirmed speakers include Victoria Kennedy; House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer; Rep. 10:50 a.m.: First lady Michelle Obama speaks at the African-American Caucus meeting. Location: Charlotte Convention Center. Media: Space is limited and to request credentials for this event you must RSVP to Patrick Rodenbush at rodenbushp@dnc.org by Monday, Sept. 3 at 5 p.m. EDT. Credentialed media will receive a follow-up confirmation email with logistical information.

11:20 a.m.: First lady Michelle Obama speaks at the Hispanic Caucus meeting. Location: Charlotte Convention Center.

11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.: Luncheon to promote children’s health and tips for building a healthy lifestyle with Olympic gold medalists and gymnasts Gabrielle Douglas, Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber. Other Olympians include gold medalist swimmers Rebecca Soni and Dana Vollmer and soccer gold medalists Lauren Cheney and Abby Wambach.

12 noon-2 p.m.: Caucus Session 2. Faith Council (Room 203AB); Disability Caucus (Room 211AB/212AB); Youth Council (Ballroom B).

12:40 p.m.: First lady Michelle Obama delivers remarks at the Human Rights Campaign/Victory Fund luncheon honoring LGBT elected officials. Location: Marriott City Center, Charlotte.

2 p.m.-4 p.m.: Caucus Session 3. Veterans & Military Families Council (Room 203AB).

3 p.m.-3:15 p.m. Democracy Spotlight — Dynamic global thought leaders discuss and demonstrate how information technology is being used to enhance citizen participation, improve government accountability and strengthen government transparency. Speaker: David Drummond, senior vice president of corporate development and chief legal officer, Google.

3:15 p.m. -4:45 p.m. Investing in 21st Century Cities: By the year 2050, two-thirds of the world’s population is expected to live in urban areas. This panel of urban leaders will share their strategies and personal experiences in building vibrant, thriving 21st-century cities. Panelists: Anthony Foxx, mayor of Charlotte; Michael Nutter, mayor of Philadelphia; Matteo Renzi, mayor of Florence, Italy; Annise Parker, mayor of Houston, Texas. Moderators: Charles Ogletree, Harvard Law School; Neera Tanden, Center for American Progress.

9:30 p.m. Voto Latino holds “Purple Carpet Bash” to bring Latino culture and Hollywood glamor to Democratic National Convention. Participants include Rosario Dawson, America Ferrera, Russell Simmons, Taboo of the Black Eyed Pease, Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship, Paola Mendoza, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and California Assembly Speaker John Perez.
