Sens. Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham will join South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in calling for the Confederate flag’s removal from the state Capitol grounds following the shooting deaths of nine people inside a Charleston African-American church.
Scott, R-S.C., one of two African-American senators, and Graham, R-S.C., a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, will make their appeals with Haley at a 4 p.m. news conference Monday, according to Republican officials with knowledge of the decision by both senators.
