There was something a little – no, a lot – familiar about the dress an Ohio congresswoman wore Thursday when she walked out onto the stage of the Democratic National Convention.
Where had we seen those giant poofy sleeves before?
Oh right, Melania Trump wore a similar white, form-fitting dress last week when she shared a few words – and a few of Michelle Obama’s – on the first night of the Republican National Convention.

U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty told Entertainment Tonight that her husband, Otto Beatty Jr., bought the dress and asked her to wear it.
“And when he unveiled it, I can be honest, I did not see her the night that she wore the dress. … I think they look similar, but this is the dress my husband bought for me,” Beatty said.
Though the dresses looked alike, they weren’t the same size, Beatty suggested with a sly serving of side-eye.
“I have heard others say (Trump's dress) was a zero, or she is a zero,” Beatty said. “But I am a 10.”
No word on whether her dress cost as much as Trump’s, a $2,200 frock by London-based Serbian designer Roksanda.
Trump bought her dress from online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter, and it sold out almost as soon as she walked on stage wearing it.
So where did Beatty get hers? And was this intentional or unintentional shade?

“Well, the internet says that Joyce Beatty wears it best, because she used her own words in it,” Beatty told ET.
She joked: “I am Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, and I approve this dress.”
