Clinton to hold first campaign rally on New York’s Roosevelt Island

Hillary Clinton will hold her first rally -- billed by her presidential campaign as a launch rally -- on New York City’s Roosevelt Island June 13.

The former secretary of state, senator and first lady will lay out her vision for the nation in front of a crowd open to the public at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park in New York City at midday, according to her campaign.

Clinton officially launched her campaign in mid-April, though she has mostly been holding small events not open to the public in early nominating states.

“Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been mired in scandals regarding the Clinton Foundation’s foreign donors and her secret email server,” Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said. “After dodging questions for months, she should take this opportunity to finally come clean and discuss the issues important to everyday Americans.”

After the rally, she will travel to Iowa on June 13 and 14, New Hampshire on June 15, South Carolina on June 17 and in Nevada on June 18.

Clinton was the first to announce her candidacy. Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley have since joined the race. Former Sen. Jim Webb or Virginia and former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee are considering a run.
