President Barack Obama will unveil his budget proposal on Feb. 2.
The president is required by law to submit his budget proposal to Congress by the first Monday of February, which is Feb. 2 this year.
Still, it’s a bit surprising since he frequently misses the deadline.
Last year, Republicans criticized Obama's decision to release his budget on March 4, a month late, saying it marked the 18th time he had missed a budget deadline.
“We look forward to working with Congress on returning to regular order in the annual budget process,” an OMB spokesman says.
