Former President George H.W. Bush was released from Houston hospital after a week-long stay because of shortness of breath.

Family spokesman Jim McGrath said Tuesday that the 90-year-old Bush is “now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care.”

In 2013, Bush spent nearly two months at the same hospital, Houston Methodist, for treatment of bronchitis and other health concerns.

The 41st chief executive, Bush is father of former President George W. Bush, no. 43, and Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor who is currently contemplating a campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
