“They will make our lives miserable.”
That’s how Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, described her view about what would occur should Republicans win too many congressional seats this year.
Fudge and others spoke at Democratic National Committee headquarters to announce new initiatives aimed at getting African-American voters to turn out. And she had a warning.
“They will try to make our president an illegitimate president,” she said. They will try to impeach him, she said, even though such an effort is highly unlikely to result in removal from office.
As a result, said Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., to African-American voters, “This is like voting in a presidential election...this midterm election is in their interest just as a presidential election is.”
