The conservative group America Rising is calling on the nonprofit Clinton Foundation to release documents about its spending after potential presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton disclosed she donated her six-figure speaking fees to the group.
The list includes the foundation’s IRS Form 990 for 2013, which was required to be submitted to the IRS by May 15, as well as additional documents involving staff and expenses related to travel, events and celebrities.
Clinton recently announced she had donated the money after complaints about the amounts of fees some cash-strapped universities paid her.
“After mounting political pressure, Hillary Clinton chose to donate her near $2 million speaking fees from colleges and universities – many of whom are raising tuition on cash-strapped students to her own foundation, opening the door to questions about just how that foundation is spending money,” America Rising PAC Executive Director Tim Miller said.
There was no immediate word from Clinton or the foundation.
