New polls say Chris McDaniel has pulled ahead of Sen. Thad Cochran in their battle for the Mississippi Republican Senate nomination.
But.
There are still a lot of soft and undecided voters out there.
The McDaniel campaign is touting new findings by WPA Opinion Research showing the state senator with an 8 percentage point lead.
"It is clear Chris McDaniel is well positioned to win on June 24," says a polling memo from the firm. WPA is known for helping conservative political candidates.
Earlier polls conducted by Chism Strategies and Strategic National showed McDaniel with a smaller lead. He inched out a win over Cochran in the June 3 primary.
The WPA poll, though, shows 10 percent of the electorate remains undecided. McDaniel still has an advantage--43 percent say they definitely support him, compared to 38 percent for Cochran.
