A new kind of way to get Republicans and Democrats together?
Republican Curt Clawson, who won a GOP primary for a vacant Florida congressional seat Tuesday, immediately said he wants to duel with President Barack Obama on the basketball court.
Speaking to supporters Tuesday night, Clawson outlined how he wants to challenge Obama on health care.
"But first, I am going to challenge you on the basketball court. It's time to man up and accept the three-point challenge," Clawson said. "My house or yours?" The comments were reported by the Associated Press in Fort Myers, Fla.
Clawson was senior captain of Purdue's 1984 basketball team. He faces face Democrat April Freeman and Libertarian Ray Netherwood in the June 24 general election.
They're vying to fill the seat by Trey Radel, who pleaded guilty last fall to cocaine possession.
