Democrats Monday named 16 House of Representatives candidates to the party's Red to Blue program, meaning they qualify for special help in defeating Republicans.
Republicans now have a 232 to 200 seat House majority, with 218 needed for control.
The Red to Blue candidates have qualified by surpassing what the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee called "aggressive fundraising, organization and infrastructure goals. These candidates also demonstrate they are problem solvers who will represent the American people’s priorities and strengthen the middle class."
