President Barack Obama wrapped up a quick visit to the Fresno area Friday, speaking to community leaders and touring a farm to focus on the devastating drought in the region.
Obama announced money and various other commitments to help address the problem.
"I wanted to come here to listen," Obama said. "We are going to stay on top of this because it has national implications."
The president joked that he was warned about the history of water politics in California -- politics he said he did not want to get mired in "because I want to get out alive on Valentine's Day.'

Obama spent barely three hours in the region before flying on to Southern California, where he is scheduled to meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Sunnylands estate in Rancho Mirage.
Obama was expected to spend the weekend at Sunnylands, perhaps golfing.
