The Democratic left will have to look for a new 2016 presidential hero--Sen. Elizabeth Warren says she's not running for president then.
The Massachusetts Democrat had enjoyed a media boomlet in recent weeks, as disenchanted liberals promoted her as a potential White House candidate.
But according to the Boston Globe, Warren has grown tired of the media frenzy.
At a downtown Boston news conference, Warren, elected last year, said "I pledge to serve out my term."
“I am not running for president,” she declared, according to the Globe. “I am working as hard as I can to be the best possible senator that I can be and to fight for the things that I promised during my campaign to fight for.”
Warren had done nothing to spur all the speculation, and the Globe reported she signed a letter urging former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to run.
