Congress returns Monday, sort of.
The House of Representatives plans floor sessions today through Thursday afternoon, while the Senate is not back until next Monday.
The official agenda this week is slim, with none of the big issues on the schedule. Lawmakers are discussing a budget deal, and have until December 13 to come up with a plan. Also still under discussion are big topics like immigration and the farm bill.
But this December session is not expected to produce a lot--the House is expected to leave for the year at the end of next week.
House votes are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Three bills are on the schedule:
The Space Launch Liability Indemnification Extension Act (Sponsored by Rep. Lamar Smith / Science, Space, and Technology Committee)
2) To extend the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988 for 10 years (Sponsored by Rep. Howard Coble / Judiciary Committee)
3) To amend the Safe Drinking Water Act to exempt fire hydrants from the prohibition on the use of lead pipes, fittings, fixtures, solder, and flux (Sponsored by Rep. Bill Johnson / Energy and Commerce Committee)
