Consumers won't be able to apply for nor enroll in health coverage on the federal health insurance marketplace for about twelve hours this weekend as repairs continue on the troubled Healthcare.gov website.
The site's application and enrollment functions will be down from approximately 9 pm Saturday, November 2 to 9 am, Sunday, November 3.
Consumers should use the Marketplace call center at 1-800-318-2596 to apply for coverage during the repairs.
"The HealthCare.gov tech team is performing extended maintenance this weekend to improve network infrastructure and make enhancements to the online application and enrollment tools," said HHS pokesperson, Joanne Peters.
The latest repairs mean the site will have been inoperable for at least two full days since Sunday, Oct. 27 when problems with an outside contractor required 36 hours of repairs.
