President Barack Obama planned to sign into law a bill ending the 16-day government shutdown, meaning federal employees furloughed for more than two weeks could start returning to work as early as Thursday
"The President plans to sign it tonight and employees should expect to return to work in the morning," said Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Director of the Office of Management and Budget. "Employees should be checking the news and OPM's website for further updates."
