Republican U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick warned a Huntersville audience Tuesday about the dangers of "homegrown terrorism" and new Iranian inroads into the Americas.
Myrick made her comments during a meeting with about 60 members of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce in Huntersville.
The appearance was one of several Myrick has made during the August congressional recess. She hosted a town meeting in Cornelius on Tuesday night and is scheduled to address a GOP women's group today in Charlotte.
In Huntersville, Myrick criticized spending by the Obama administration. She said she believes that raising taxes - some Democrats want to end the Bush-era tax cuts for wealthier Americans - will further hurt the economy.
She answered questions about health care, mortgage deductions and immigration and decried partisanship in Congress.
