California mayor arrested on fraud, stolen property charges

The mayor of Huron, Calif., Ramon Dominguez, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of real estate fraud, grand theft and possession of stolen and serialized property.

Fresno County Sheriff's officials said his arrest came after a lengthy investigation into what was described as a "wide array of criminal activity."

Dominguez, 62, was arrested about 9 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 16000 block of 5th Street in Huron.

Officials with the sheriff's department did not reveal details about the charges.

Dominguez has been Huron mayor for 15 years. He ran uncontested in the last city election.
