Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Monday 18 October 2010

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- Around 8 a.m. a roadside bomb detonated targeting the convoy of Jasim Ali Mahmoud, Baghdad provincial council member in Nahda neighborhood in downtown Baghdad. Jasim was killed, three of his guards and five civilians were wounded.

- Two civilians were wounded when a mortar shell hit Karradah neighborhood in downtown Baghdad around 8 a.m.

- Around 11 a.m. an adhesive bomb that was stuck to a civilian car detonated in Doura neighborhood in south Baghdad. One civilian was killed and another was wounded.
