Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Tuesdsay 28 September, 2010

A magnetic bomb that was stuck to the private car of police Lieut. Col. Salam Meer, detonated in Baladiyat neighbourhood, east Baghdad, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, seriously injuring the police officer.

A roadside bomb exploded in Shurta neighbourhood, at 4 p.m. Tuesday, causing no casualties or damages.A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Kathimiyah neighbourhood at around 7 p.m. Tuesday, injuring six.

Two roadside bombs went off almost simultaneously near Um al Maalif entrance to Saidiyah neighbourhood, south Baghdad, at 7.30 p.m. Tuesday, injuring four civilians.

A roadside bomb targeted worshippers leaving Muhammed Mosque (after evening prayers) in Tarmiyah neighbourhood, northwest Baghdad, at 8 p.m. Tuesday, killing two worshippers and injuring another eight.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Meshtel neighbourhood, Monday, injuring three.


Armed men stormed the house of Hussein Ali, one of the sheikhs of Lihaib tribe (one of the big Arab tribes in Mosul) in Zahraa neighbourhood, east Mosul, Tuesday evening, and shot him dead.

A roadside bomb targeted an army patrol in Harmat neighbourhood, west Mosul, late Monday, killing an officer and seriously injuring a soldier.
