Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Tuesday 15 September, 2010

A roadside bomb targeted civilians near the Ministry of Social Affairs in Waziriyah, north Baghdad, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, injuring two young men.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians near the much frequented Saj al Reef restaurant in Karrada at 12.30 p.m. Wednesday, seriously injuring our civilians.

Armed men in a speeding car opened fire at a police patrol carrying a traffic-police colonel in Muheet Square in Kathimiyah neighbourhood, northwest Baghdad, Wednesday. The police officer was seriously injured and later died in the hospital. Their pistols were fitted with silencers.


A roadside bomb targeted a military bus transporting soldiers going on leave, from their units on the main route from Tel Afar to Mosul, west Mosul, killing nine soldiers, including the driver, and injuring the other six in the bus.

Armed men stormed a house in Qayara neighbourhood, south Mosul, Wednesday, shooting the father dead in full view of his family.
