Baghdad
A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Athuriyeen marketplace, Dora, south Baghdad, Friday, killing two young men and injuring nine more civilians.
A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Mada'in, a southeastern suburb of Baghdad, Friday, injuring three civilians and two army servicemen.
A suicide bomber driving a car bomb targeted the Iraqi army checkpoint at the entrance of Ameriyah neighbourhood, west Baghdad at 7 p.m. Thursday, killing a Sahwa commander, an army officer, a young woman and a young man. The explosion also injured ten people.
Diyala
A suicide bomber driving a car bomb, a taxi, targeted a U.S. military convoy in the centre of the city of Jalowlaa, 110 km to the northeast of Baquba at around 10 a.m. Friday, killing three civilians including one woman and one policeman and injuring at least ten other Iraqis. According to a U.S. military release: Two U.S. Division – North Soldiers were killed and six injured after a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near their combined patrol today.
Nineveh
Armed men in a speeding car shot and killed a policeman in Tel Afar district, to the west of Mosul.
A home made bomb was thrown over the wall into Mosul University campus. The explosion killed an army officer.
Anbar
A roadside bomb targeted a U.S. military convoy at the entrance of Saqlawiyah district, 10 km to the north of Fallujah, Thursday. The explosion destroyed one of the American military vehicles that had to be loaded onto a flat-bed truck to be moved away. No report of U.S. casualties was available at time of publication.
