Armed men opened fire at an Iraqi army checkpoint near al Sa'a restaurant in 14 Ramadhan Street, Mansour, west Baghdad at noon Saturday. The confrontation lasted for several minutes and resulted in the injury of one policeman who was stationed at the intersection a few meters away.
Nineveh
Armed men shot and killed, Saturday, a young man, who had informed Iraqi police that a home made bomb was planted in a street near his home in Tanak neighbourhood, west Mosul.
Armed men shot and killed a civilian in Tanak neighbourhood, west Mosul, Saturday.
A home made bomb that was tied to a lamp post in Faisaliyah neighbourhood, central Mosul exploded targeting an Iraqi army foot patrol seriously injuring one soldier.
Gunmen in a speeding car open fire upon a police officer while off duty in Dorat al Hamamil neighbourhood, west Mosul, Saturday, injuring the police officer and killing a civilian passer by.
Diyala
Armed men shot and killed a Sahwa (a militia first sponsored by the U.S. military and then turned over to the Iraqi government) member in the centre of the town of Saadiyah, 90 km to the northeast of Baquba, Saturday. They were carrying pistols fitted with silencers.
