The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A magnetic bomb stuck to a civilian car exploded in Mansour neighbourhood at 7 a.m. Sunday seriously injuring the driver.

A roadside bomb targeted two Sahwa members in Jihad neighbourhood, west Baghdad, Sunday injuring them both.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Bataween neighbourhood, central Baghdad, Saurday, injuring five.

A sniper shot and killed Khaleel Ibraheem al Ubaidi, a Sahwa commander in Athamiyah neighbourhood, north Baghdad, Saturday.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Alawi al Hilla neighbourhood, central Baghdad, Saturday, injuring two.

Anbar

Ghanim al Karbooli, candidate of the Iraqia coalition, led by former premier Ayad Allawi was killed Sunday. His house in Qa'im, far to the west of Ramadi was booby trapped and blown up early Sunday, killing him, his brother and a female from the family and injuring six other members of his family. As the neighbours came running to the house, another bomb went off, killing three and injuring ten of the neighbours bringing the final count to six killed and 16 injured. And a few minutes later another bomb went off some small distance down the street causing no casualties. Security authorities have imposed a curfew until further notice.

A booby trapped motorcycle exploded near al Furqan Mosque in Fallujah, late Saturday, injuring one civilian.

A home made bomb that was planted near the house of a police officer in Albu Ubaid area, near Qa'im, west Anbar and detonated, Sunday, injuring one civilian passer by.

Nineveh

A roadside bomb planted in a garbage dump targeted a police patrol in al Farooq neighbourhood, central Mosul, Sunday, injuring one civilian.

A roadside bomb planted inside the neighbourhood generator (a privately owned generator whose owner sells electricity to nearby homes. There is one or more such generator in every neighbourhood in Iraq) in Farooq neighbourhood, central Mosul, exploded, Saturday, injuring four civilians, including two little children whose injuries were serious.

Diyala

Two home made bombs in plastic carrier bags left inside a much frequented restaurant in the main marketplace in the town of Khalis 10 km to the north of Baquba, detonated Saturday morning killing at least 80 civilians and injuring at least 95 others, said Iraqi police.
