Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Sunday 21 March 2010

Gunmen in a speeding car opened fire at Issam Abdullateef, a director general in the labour and social affairs ministry, in Karrada, central Baghdad at 7 a.m. Sunday, seriously injuring Abdullateef and his driver.

A roadside bomb targeted a Federal Police foot patrol in Doura, south Baghdad at 8 a.m. Sunday killing one police officer and injuring two policemen.

A roadside bomb targeted a minibus in the city of Yousifiyah, to the south of Baghdad at 3.30 p.m. Sunday killing three civilians including the driver, and injuring another four.


Insurgents opened fire at an Iraqi army patrol in al Muhandiseen neighbourhood, north Mosul Saturday afternoon injuring five servicemen.

Insurgents threw a home made bomb at a police patrol in al Islah al Zira'i neighbourhood, west Mosul, Saturday, injuring two civilian passers by.

Armed men broke into a home in al Tanak neighbourhood, west Mosul, Sunday, and executed an old man in full view of his family without mentioning any accusations.

Armed men shot and killed a soldier while off duty inal Karama al Sharqiyah, east Mosul, Sunday.


Armed man broke into the home of Sahwa member, Rebee Abdullah, Sunday, and shot him and his wife dead.
