A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims on their way to Karbala (to commemorate the anniversary of the fortieth day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, grandson of the Prophet Muhammed) in Meshtel, east Baghdad at 7 a.m. Sunday injuring three pilgrims.

Armed men threw a hand grenade at a procession of pilgrims on the main route south, in Bayaa, southwest Baghdad at 10 a.m. Sunday, injuring six pilgrims.

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims on the main route south, near Um al Tubul Mosque, Yarmouk, west Baghdad before noon, Sunday, injuring four pilgrims.


A roadside bomb blew up in central Fallujah, Sunday, killing the insurgent who was planting it.
