A magnetic bomb was attached to the car of a senior tribal leader in Abu Ghraib neighbourhood, western Baghdad, Wednesday. The bomb was planted under the passenger seat were the sheikh usually sits, but this time he was driving and got away with superficial injuries while his bodyguard – sitting in the passenger seat was seriously injured.


A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Tel al Zalat village, 25 km to the west of Mosul, Wednesday, killing three soldiers.

Gunmen opened fire at two policemen in Rejm Hadeed neighbourhood in western Mosul, Wednesday morning, killing one and injuring the other.

Police found a body in a house in al Zahar neighbourhood in Mosul City, Wednesday. There were signs of stabbing, and the identity of the victim is still unknown, police said.
