The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A parked car bomb targeted day laborers in Amil neighbourhood, southwest Baghdad at 6 a.m. Monday killing seven workers and wounding 47 others.

A parked car bomb targeted laborers in al Shurta al Rabi'a neighbourhood, southwestern Baghdad at 6.20 a.m. Monday killing nine workers and wounding 35 others.

Two roadside bombs went off within minutes of each other in Raghiba Khatoon commercial area in Adhamiyah, north Baghdad, Monday morning causing material damages to a number of stores and houses.

A roadside bomb went of in Karrada In commercial street, central Baghdad at 7 a.m. Monday, causing material damages to a number of stores.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Saidiyah neighbourhood at 11 a.m. Monday killing two civilians and wounding 14 others.

A roadside bomb targeted a traffic police patrol in Ghadeer neighboorhood at 11 a.m. Monday injuring two policemen.

A roadside bomb targeted the motorcade of the Chief of Criminal Evidence Department, Lt.Gen. Abdul Mun'im in Karrada, central Baghdad at noon, Monday. Abdul Mun'im was not in the motorcade and the explosion caused material damages to all four cars without causing any human casualties.

A magnetic bomb stuck to a mini bus exploded in Shula, northwestern Baghdad at 1.30 p.m. Monday killing the driver and injuring three passengers.

A parked car bomb targeted civilians near a popular restaurant in al Shurta al Rabi'a neighbourhood in southwestern Baghdad at 8 p.m. Monday killing two civilians and injuring 18 others.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Adil neighbourhood, western Baghdad, at 8.30 p.m. Monday injuring three young men.

Nineveh

Two truck bombs targeted the residential neighbourhood in al Khazna village, 20 km to the north of Mosul at 4 a.m. Monday killing at least 30 civilians and wounding at least 155 others. Iraqi police said that the toll is likely to rise because rescue operations are continuous and also because so many of the wounded have serious injuries. The explosion also destroyed 35 houses.

Two policemen, while on leave, were shot and killed by gunmen, Monday afternoon, the first in Bab al Toob, central Mosul, and the other in al Jami'a neighbourhood in northern Mosul.

Salahuddin

A bomb planted on the side of the road exploded killing two little brothers in al Hamra village, 20 km to the north of Tikrit, Monday.
