Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Sunday 12 July 2009

Around 5 p.m. three bombs detonated near churches in Karrada neighborhood in Baghdad injuring eight civilians.

Four civilians were killed and 21 others were wounded by a parked car bomb near a church in Palestine neighborhood in northeast Baghdad around 7 p.m.

A civilian was killed and four others were wounded by an adhesive bomb that was stuck to a sedan in Saidiyah neighborhood in south Baghdad around 8 p.m.

Three civilians were wounded when a bomb detonated near a church in Doura neighborhood in south Baghdad around 8 p.m.


Gunmen driving a speeding car using pistols with silencers assassinated the director of the financial inspection department in Kirkuk while he was going to work on Sunday morning.
