Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Saturday 13 June 2009

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- A roadside bomb detonated in Kornish neighborhood in downtown Kirkuk targeting a police patrol on Saturday morning. One policeman was wounded.


- A roadside bomb targeted the convoy of the Grand Ayat Allah Ali Sistani’s representative of Sinja, Ahmed Awad in the 17th of July neighborhood in western Mosul on Saturday morning. No casualties reported.

- A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Suq Al-Maash neighborhood in western Mosul on Saturday afternoon. Two people were wounded.


- Around 1 a.m. one American soldier was killed and two others were wounded while they were about to defuse a roadside bomb in Dhibat neighborhood in Samarra on Saturday, Iraqi police said. The coalition forces confirmed the incident.
