Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq-Saturday 28 February 2009

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- Around 8 a.m. a roadside bomb targeted a police vehicle in Dora neighborhood. Two civilians were injured.

- Around 10 a.m. a roadside bomb targeted a police vehicle in Zafaraniyah neighborhood. Three policemen were injured and three civilians.

- Around 6:30 p.m. a parked car bomb exploded in Mansour neighborhood killing police Lt. Col. Ahmed Ghazi, as he was passing by driving his civilian car, and one civilian and injuring nine.

Nineveh

- A roadside bomb targeted a police vehicle in central Mosul. One civilian was injured.

Diyala

- Around 11:15 a.m. a booby-trapped parked bicycle exploded targeting an American military convoy in Baquba city. One Iraqi civilian was injured.
