The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

16 civilians were killed and 43 others were injured in when two parked car bomb detonated in sequence in Bayaa neighborhood in south Baghdad around 3 p.m.

Gunmen attacked with the machineguns a checkpoint for Shaab Sahwa council north Baghdad around 2 a.m. Two Shawa members were injured.

Gunmen attacked with the machineguns a checkpoint of Sahwa in Doura neighborhood in south Baghdad around 3 a.m. one member of Sahwa was injured.

One civilian (pilgrim walking to Karbala for Arbaeniyah visit) was killed and four others were injured by a roadside bomb in Karrada neighborhood in downtown Baghdad around 7 a.m.

Around 8 a.m. a roadside bomb detonated in Ghazaliyah neighborhood in west Baghdad targeting the vehicle of Brigadier General Sabah from the national police. The driver of Sabah was injured.

Around 12 p.m. an adhesive bomb stuck to the car of Raghad Abdul Hussein, an employee in the Prime Minister office detonated. The incident took place in Yarmouk neighborhood in west Baghdad. Raghad was not in her car. The explosion led to the injury of a civilian who passed by the car at the moment of the explosion.

Two civilians were injured by a roadside bomb in Mansour neighborhood in west Baghdad around 12 p.m.

Around 1 p.m. a roadside bomb detonated in Waziriyah neighborhood in east Baghdad killing one civilian and injuring 12 six of them are pilgrims who were walking to Karbala province.

Three civilians were injured when a roadside bomb detonated in Talbiyah neighborhood in east Baghdad around 7 p.m.

Babil

Two policemen were killed and three others were injured by a roadside bomb that targeted their patrol in Iskandiriyah town north of Hilla city around noon.

Nineveh

One civilian was killed in Hamdaniyah area north Mosul city by a roadside bomb that targeted the convoy of the commander of Hamdaniyah emergency battalion.

Police found one unidentified body in Faisaliyah neighborhood in Mosul.

One Iraqi soldier was killed and five people (two soldiers and three civilians) were injured by a suicide car bomb that targeted a joint patrol of Iraq army and US military in Hadbaa neighborhood in north Mosul around 12 p.m. No casualties were reported about the US military.

One civilian was injured when a roadside bomb detonated in Mansour neighborhood south Mosul on Wednesday afternoon.

A traffic police was injured when an insurgent threw a grenade targeting a police car in downtown Mosul on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 7 p.m. gunmen attacked a police patrol in Dergazliyah area easy Mosul killing three policemen.

Diyala

Around 2 a.m. gunmen attacked with the machineguns the house of Captain Sallal al Timimi, an officer in Buhruz police station in south of Baquba city. One of the guards of al Timimi was killed in the attack. When the police patrols came to the area, a roadside bomb detonated killing one policeman.
