Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq-Monday 13 October 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- Around 9 am a roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Ur neighborhood (northeast Baghdad). Five people were injured including three policemen.

- Around 10:30 am mortars hit the International Zone (IZ) downtown Baghdad. No casualties reported.

- Police found two unidentified bodies in Baghdad. The first body was found in Habibiyah and the second was found in Doura.


- Gunmen killed a Christian music store owner and inured his nephew when they attacked their store in al Ekha’a neighborhood east Mosul city on Monday evening.

- Gunmen killed a policeman nearby his house in east Mosul on Monday evening.

- Two civilians were inured by a roadside bomb in east mosul on Monday evening
