The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb went off in Palestine Street, eastern Baghdad, near al-Mowal restaurant at 8 a.m. Thursday. No casualties were reported.

A roadside bomb exploded in Waziriyah, northern Baghdad, near the battery plant targeting a US military convoy at 10.30 this morning. The explosion caused material damages to one of the vehicles of the convoy.

Nineveh

Gunmen opened fire from a speeding car at a husband and wife stepping out of their house in al-Rashid neighbourhood, northern Mosul killing the woman, injuring the husband.

An adhesive bomb stuck to a civilian car, a Nissan Sunny, exploded in Bayaa, al-Hamza intersection near the Sadr offices in the neighbourhood. The explosion killed one civilian and injured two.

Two unidentified bodies were found in Baghdad today; one in Ur neighbourhood and one in Kasra wa Atash.

Diyala

A member of the of the PUK, Mahmoud al-Dwadi was kidnapped by gunmen yesterday, Wednesday from Jamila, a small village in Jalowla district to the northeast of Baquba, and several hours later his body was found by local police riddled with gunshots.

Kirkuk

Local police in Tuz Khormatu found the body of a man inside a car in Albu Sabah village around 11.30 p.m. Wednesday. Investigations showed that it was Sadiq Ismail, a 25 year old taxi driver, a resident of al-Jumhuriyah neighbourhood in Duz.
