Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Saturday 1 december 2007

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


3 policemen were killed in an IED explosion that targeted a police patrol in Shaab neighborhood north Baghdad around 8,30 am.

2 civilians were injured in an IED explosion that was left in a taxi in New Baghdad area east Baghdad around 9,00 am.

A civilian was killed and 4 others were wounded in a parked car bomb in Salman Pak area southeast Baghdad around 10,00 am.

Around 4,00 pm, an IED exploded targeting a national police patrol in Mansour neighborhood west Baghdad. No casualties reported.

5 anonymous bodies were found in Baghdad today in the following neighborhoods (2 bodies in Doura, 1 body in Amil, 1 nody in Sadr city and 1 body in Sleikh).


Police found an anonymous body of a civilian on Samarra- Door street south of Tikrit city around 11,15 am.


Iraqi police said that 16 civilians were killed, 6 wounded and more than 20 others were kidnapped when gunmen from Qaeda attacked Dwiliyah village, part of Wajihiyah town west of Baquba city. Police said that the attack started around 8,30 am and ended around 1,00 pm. The US army said that they didn’t have any evidences of the attack.
