Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Wednesday 21 November 2007

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


3 policemen were injured in an IED explosion that targeted a police patrol in Mansour neighborhood west Baghdad around 1,00 pm.

8 bodies were found in Baghdad today. 6 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhood (5 bodies in a house in Saidiyah neighborhood and 1 body in Doura.) 2 bodies in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in New Baghdad and 1 body in Ur.


5 people were killed including a policeman and 30 others were injured mostly women and children ina suicide car bomb near Ramadi court downtown Ramadi city west of Baghdad around 11,00 am. 10 cars were burnt in the explosion and the building of the court was damaged severly.


The head of the political prisoners in Kurdistan region was injured in his legs when two IEDs exploded under beneath his car in Saray neighborhood in Ranya city (150 Kms northeast Sulaimaniyah city today morning.


Police found 3 anonymous bodies in different neighborhoods of Baquba city today afternoon.

2 civilians were injured in an IED explosion that targeted a civilian car in Kalis town north of Baquba.

Gunmen attacked one of the centers of Sahwa in Muqdadiyah city east of Baquba today afternoon. Two members of Sahwa were injured in the attack.
