The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

3 policemen were injured in an IED explosion that targeted their patrol in Karrada neighborhood downtown Baghdad around 8,00 am.

2 civilians were killed and 12 others injured in two car bombs that targeted the civilians near Al Rubai’e mosque in Zayuna neighborhood east Baghdad around 11,00.

Police found 8 unidentified bodies today. 6 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (2 bodies Amil, 1 body in Risala, 1 body in Hurriyah, 1 body in Al Jamia’a and 1 body in Saidiyah). 2 bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in Sadr city and 1 body in Palestine Street.)

Basra

2 policemen were killed and 17 others wounded in a suicide car bomb near a police station in Ashar neighborhood downtown Basra city around 8,30 am.

Diyala

Police sources confirmed that the final casualties of Baquba suicide attack is 25 people killed and 40 others injured. The attack happened near one of the Shiite mosques yesterday evening.

Kirkuk

Gunmen kidnapped one of the Iraqi contractors who works with the US troops in Kirkuk province north of Baghdad. Khaleel Al Byati was kidnapped south of Tuz Khurmatu town south of Kirkuk city early morning today.

2 gunmen were killed south of Tuz Khurmatu town yesterday afternoon. The two gunmen were killed while they were trying to plant an IED.

The head of the local council of Hawija town Hussein Ali Salih was injured with one of his guards and a third civilian when a suicide car bomb targeted the convoy of Salih near Al Mahmoudiyah fuel station in Hawija town west of Kirkuk today afternoon.

An IED exploded near the house of one of the officers of the 1st battalion , the 2nd Iraqi army brigade in Hawiha town yesterday night. The police sources said that the explosion caused only damage to the house.

A mortar shell hit the house of one of the civilians in Al Reyadh area west Kirkuk today early morning causing some damages to the house.

A civilian was injured when an IED exploded targeting his vehicle in Wahid Huzairan neighborhood around 7,00 am.

A civilian was burnt to death inside his car when gunmen burnt the car in Al Naser neighborhood inside Kirkuk city yesterday night.

A gunman killed one of the military commanders of the PUK Party today afternoon. The police said that Colonel Ali Simeen, the commander of the emergency battalion of Beshmarga (Kurdish military troops) in Tuz Khurmatu town was killed in front of his house inside Kifri district south of Kirkuk city.

An IED explosion that targeted one of the gas pipe lines between the villages of Keef and Gughmagha , part of Dibs district south of Kirkuk city caused leaking in the area. The area was evacuated by the local police. Police said that no casualties were caused by neither the explosion nor the leak. The IED explosion took place today early morning.

Al Anbar

- A road side bomb targeted a police vehicle in Al Shuhada district south Fallujah today. Three policemen were killed and one was injured.
