The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

Iraqi police said that 4 people were wounded when US army helicopters bombed Zafaraniyah neighborhood southeast Baghdad at 4,00 am.

A US Humvee was destroyed by an IED in New Baghdad east Baghdad around 7,00 a,. The US military couldn’t immediately confirm the incident

A US Humvee was damaged in an IED explosion in Karrada neighborhood downtown Baghdad around 8,15. The US military couldn’t immediately confirm the incident.

A US tank was destroyed by an IED in New Baghdad area east Baghdad around 12,00 pm. The US military couldn’t immediately confirm the incident.

Gunmen killed Major General Mahir Nori, the officer in the directorate of the traffic police. The incident happened near Al Nahdha neighborhood east Baghdad around 8,30 am.

20 people were killed and 40 others wounded in a suicide car bomb near Al Hurriyah square in Karrada neighborhood close to Al Faqma ice cream store, a very well known ice cream store where families gather downtown Baghdad at 10,20 am. 15 cars were burnt in the explosion.

50 people were killed and 60 wounded in a suicide fuel tank bomb in the entrance of Al Mansour fuel station in Mansour neighborhood downtown Baghdad around 2,00 pm.

3 people were killed and 5 injured in a parked car bomb in Doura neighborhood south Baghdad around 2,05 pm.

Two men working for the anti terror directorate were killed by gunmen in Saidiyah neighborhood south Baghdad around 4,30 pm.

3 people were killed and 6 others injured in a parked car bomb In Harthiyah neighborhood downtown Baghdad around 5,20 pm.

A policeman was killed and 7 others wounded in an IED explosion targeted their vehicle in Al Mamoun neighborhood downtown Baghdad around 5,00 pm.

3 civilians were killed and 6 others were wounded when gunmen exploded a building in Madain town south east Baghdad today afternoon.

2 civilians were killed when mortar shell hit Saidiyah neighborhood south Baghdad round 6,30 pm.

2 policemen were injured in an IED explosion targeted their vehicle in Mahmoudiyah town south Baghdad around 7,00 pm.

25 anonymous bodies were found in Baghdad today. 19 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (8 bodies in Amil, 4 bodies in Bayaa, 3 bodies in Saidiyah, 2 bodies in Hurriyah and 2 bodies in Elam.) 6 bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (2 bodies in Sadr city, 2 bodies in Ur, 1 body in Nahdha and 1 body in Karrada.)

Kirkuk

8 people were injured in a car bomb targeted the convoy of the police commander of Raheem Awa police station in Kirkuk city yesterday evening.

A civilian was injured in two IEDs explosions targeted police patrols downtown Kirkuk city north of Baghdad around 7,15 pm.

The chief of Domiz police station in Kirkuk city said that police force had arrested two men while they were trying to kidnap a child in Al Asra neighborhood in the city.

Anbar

2 police man were killed and 6 people including 3 civilians and 3 policemen injured in a suicide truck bomb targeted the police checkpoint located at the end of (40) St. in Falluja city west of Baghdad today afternoon.
