Roundup of violence in Iraq - 31 January 2007

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondent Ali Fadaam in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. Itís posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchyís Washington Bureau.

-- (1) civilian killed and (6) others injured after a car bomb parked on the side road exploded at 10:00am in Al-Amen neighborhood southeast of Baghdad.

-- (2) Civilians wounded in Al-Yarmuk neighborhood when a parked car bomb exploded near al-Nessour square at 1:15 p.m.

-- (2) Civilians killed and (9) others wounded in a car bomb explosion in Bab al-Muazzam area in the middle of transportation garage.

-- (4) Civilians killed and (20) wounded after mortar shells fell down on Al-Adhamiya area.

2- Dayala

-- A terrorist suicide bomber driving a Fuel track blows himself up in at the checkpoint of Iraqi military camp wounding (9) soldiers in Al-Muqdadiyah area north of Baghdad.

-- (22) Terrorists killed in Dayala in the last 24 hours.

-- (4) Terrorists riding a small car killed in Abo-Saida 25Km (15 miles) east of Baaquba Wednesday afternoon

-- (5) gunmen killed in Baaquba yesterday morning in Al-Tahrer neighborhood in an engagement with a joint force from the Iraqi police and the coalition forces.

-- (13) Terrorists killed two days ago in two spread attacks in the New Baaquba area near the Dayala education department building.
