The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondent Ali Fadaam in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. Itís posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchyís Washington Bureau.

Baghdad. The source: MOI operation room

-- 2 civilians killed and 9 others wounded when unknown gunmen opened fire on the highway of Al-Dora near Bayaa district on two minibuses returning from Karbala.

-- 9 civilians wounded when a mortar round fell in Kadhmiya.

Diyala.

-- 16 civilians were killed and 57 injured in Baladroz town 45 Km east of Baqouba when a suicide bomber with an explosive belt exploded himself in a middle of a Shiite religious parade.

-- 11 civilians were killed and 33 injured in Khanaqeen town 120Km east of Baqouba in an bombing targeting a Shiite religious parade.

-- One child was killed and 5 civilians were wounded when unknown gunmen opened fire in Al-Abarah area north of Baqouba.

-- 7 Seven civilians wounded in Kahn Bani-Saad 20 Km south of Baaquba after mortar rounds fell down on a religious parade.

-- 3 civilians from one family were killed today in Baqouba by a sniper when they were cooking food for the people in Ashura today.

-- 1 man was killed and 5 civilians wounded in Abu-Saida district after mortar shells fall down on a religious parade.

Basra

-- The spokeswoman of the coalition forces in Basra, Kitty Brown, said that all British bases in Basra received massive shelling by Katyusha rocket and mortar shells last night and this morning causing damages in one of the bases. captain kitty refused to name that base.
