Former NSA contractor turned leaker Edward Snowden has reportedly settled in to his new home in Russia. The 30-year-old’s lawyer said Wednesday that Snowden has landed a job at a tech support company, and starts work in November.
Speaking with Russia’s RIA Novosti news service, Snowden's lawyer Anatoly Kucherena said his client would start Friday as a web maintenance worker for one of the country’s largest websites. Kucherena wouldn't name the company, citing security concerns.
This job is the latest sign that Snowden, who is considered a fugitive and facing espionage charges, has no plans to return to the U.S., or, for that matter, leave Russia, the nation that granted him asylum in August following a months-long manhunt that led U.S. officials around the globe.
Snowden’s leaks continue to roil Washington and its allies, with his latest documents revealing U.S. spying on Angela Merkel, and NSA hacking into Google and Yahoo databases.
