CNN has obtained surveillance camera footage that shows chilling moments from the Sept. 21 terrorist rampage inside the upscale Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
The deadly attack would go on for four days; Kenyan authorities are still investigating the incident and, as of two days ago, 23 people were still unaccounted for, perhaps still under rubble, according to Kenyan authorities.
The footage shows the moment when an ordinary day at the mall turns into a nightmare. One second people are pushing shopping carts and families are strolling; seconds later, the same shoppers are running for their lives. Some fall as they are struck by bullets.
In one chilling clip, a mother is pushing an injured child in a shopping cart, prodded on by a gun-toting terrorist, presumably from Shabaab, the Somali al Qaida offshoot that claimed responsibility for the attack.
Warning: the video is graphic. And CNN says it's just a sliver of the surveillance footage, most of it too graphic for broadcast.
