Days after a bloody rampage by alleged shooter Aaron Alexis, Building 197 remains an active crime scene at Navy Yard.

According to the Navy, the site will likely require extensive rehabilitation even after investigators wrap up their work.  Building 197 workers are being encouraged to telework for now.

The rest of the Navy Yard is open. However, only Pentagon-issued IDs will be accepted, including Common Access Cards, Military Retiree IDs and Military Dependent IDs.
