Gottschalks Inc.'s fight for survival remains ongoing. A Chinese company determined to keep it open has submitted a bid for Gottschalks, the Fresno retailer confirmed today.
In a filing this afternoon in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Gottschalks' lawyers said it received a "going concern" bid from Shandong Commercial Group General Corp. The Shandong bid means Gottschalks still has a chance of remaining alive.
A second bid was also received by a consortium led by liquidator Gordon Brothers Retail Partners.
