House for sale in DC is a ‘trip’ thanks to its odd bathroom and living room. See why
A unique home on the real estate market in Washington, D.C., for $1.77 million comes with a gaggle of special features ... some of which have people asking questions.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home is three levels of elegance, but a couple of the rooms may be too one-of-a-kind for people’s taste: the bathroom and the living room.
The living room has “what appears to be the facade of another house protruding into the living room,” the listing on Zillow.com says. Only it’s not really another house; it’s actually a theater set piece.
But that’s not the only surprise. One of the second-floor bathrooms is made completely of concrete, giving it a bizarre vibe.
Of course, there are other features across the home’s 4,020 square feet, including:
Dramatic wood floors
Atrium-like living space
Renovated kitchen
Brick patio
Roof deck off primary suite
Rec room space
While the property does come with a certain amount of charm, the popular social media page Zillow Gone Wild couldn’t help but focus on the living room and, especially, that concrete bathroom.
“Nothing could’ve prepared me for the bathroom,” one person said while tagging another in the comment.
“LOL....From speakeasy shabby chic to the bathrooms of Tatooine,” another joked. “What a combo.”
“This was a great price for a giant house in that part of DC, no wonder it went under contract in like four days,” someone expressed. “One assumes the new owners will probably redo a lot of the wonky floorplan, lol.”
“That bathroom’s a trip…and I’m not sure if I mean that in a good way or a bad way,” one person observed.
“So, in Washington 1,7 mil get you a nice house and in Florida you get a shed for 1,2 mil,” another said. “I like this one a lot. esp the bathroom and the huge rooms on the lower level.”
“It’s odd and random, but I kind of love it!” one person exclaimed.
“Add a stage for fun and I’ll take it,” another said.
At the time of this article’s publication, the listing says the house is under contract.
