Draft Biden 2016, a SuperPAC organized to draft vice president Joe Biden into the 2016 presidential race, has launched a new website and an online store where supporters can purchase bumper stickers and water bottles emblazoned with the words: “I’m Riding with Biden.”
The logo is vintage Biden: featuring the vice president in one of his beloved Corvettes, wearing a pair of his trademark aviator sunglasses.
“It’s a great way for the Vice President’s supporters to connect and engage, as well as getting our petition out,” said the group’s executive director, William Pierce. The group of former staffers and campaign veterans last month began an online petition in hopes of gathering more than 30,000 signatures.
“No one else will bring the same passion, joy and knowledge to the office, and there is no one more deserving, more willing and more qualified to be our 45th President than Joseph R. Biden,” the website says.
The group’s future plans are to organize in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Biden has said he’ll decide later this year whether he’ll seek to succeed President Barack Obama, and he continues to run a distant second to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in most Democratic preference polls.
But he’s seemingly kept his name in the running, traveling earlier this year to New Hampshire, South Carolina and Iowa.
