The man who hung a swastika banner in the front window of his Newton Booth home to prevent the next-door neighbors from renting their house, took the flag down Monday.
Joe Ongaro, an electrical contractor, said he felt bad that police were being called about the neighborhood squabble, especially when they are dealing with more serious issues like child abductions.
"People should be spending their time and resources on that, not my feud with the neighbors," he said.
Ongaro initially put the flag up last week, took it down Friday evening and then put it up again Saturday morning, adding a poster proclaiming endorsements for companies where various neighbors work, the Republican Party and excessive CEO salaries.
He wouldn't say if the flag has been permanently stored.
